We took a bus to Car Crossing to catch the the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad, completed in 1900, back to Skagway.
The scenery was beautiful and the area was quite devoid of people, even in the town of Car Crossing.
We stopped for lunch at Bennett Lake, British Columbia, a major take-off point to the Yukon for prospectors who made it up the Chilkoot Trail.
Old photos show this large lake crowded with every sort of water craft hoping to carry gold seekers deeper into the Yukon Territory.
